Deutsche in Singapur / Germans in Singapore

Publication design for Sabine Hein’s Deutsche in Singapur: Geschichten aus 200 Jahren Freundschaft im Zeichen der Globalisierung / Germans in Singapore: Stories from 200 Years of Friendship in an Age of Globalisation, a bilingual chronicle of relations between Germany and Singapore over the last two centuries. Drawing on the overlapping national colours of the two nations as a visual and structural device, the book’s four main sections weave their German and English texts into close proximity, underlining the countries’ ties and integration. This is seen in a microcosm on the front cover, where the book’s bilingual titles and alphabetised keywords merge into one another: ‘Kultur lah’.
